Youm-e-Shuhada To Be Observed Today
ISLAMABAD- April 20
Youm-e-Shuhada is being observed on Monday (April 30th) throughout Pakistan to remember the 35,000 innocent civilians killed during terrorist attacks, including women, children and old people and over 3000 military and security personnel fighting valiantly against the terrorists.
The day will begin with special prayers in mosques after Fajr prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls and a resolve to defeat the terrorism and uproot it permanently.
On Youm-e-Shuhada, the people will pay tribute to Armed Forces and its agencies in sacrificing their lives in fighting terrorism. The relatives of the victims will restate their demand that terrorists should be brought to justice.
In fighting war on terrorism no special laws have been made by parliament, therefore over 1000 hardcore terrorists had been acquitted by the courts due to existing laws and they have become even more dangerous after release.
If special laws are not made the courts may continue to put agencies in the stand which will give more leeway to the terrorists.
USA has made patriot law to deal with terrorism, while UK, India and Sri Lanka had also strengthened laws against terrorism. People urge that why our parliament can't do that.
War on terror is the war of nation therefore the nation supports armed forces and its agencies in fighting war on terror and salute those who sacrificed their lives in defending the motherland against terrorists.###
